Attachment Theory is a field of clinical psychology that defines the patterns of our connections with other people, particularly in emotionally significant relationships.

Attachment styles are formed in early childhood, based on our interactions with primary caregivers, and they set the blueprint for how we perceive and engage love, self-worth and emotional attachment throughout our lives.
